Father & Daughter

Just going through some old photos and decided to do some mono conversions and give them a soft focus too. This is a friends' husband and daughter taken at a birthday party. They didn't know I was taking it. I like natural photos.

Sunflower field

I couldn't believe my luck today finding this fabulous sunflower field. It was taken near a village called Elwick in Hartlepool. It's something not really seen up in these parts so it was a rare treat and a nice one.

Article from the Hartlepool Mail
'A SEA of colour has been created in a farmer's field thanks to more than a million sunflowers. The sunflowers can be seen in the fields at Naisberry Farm, in Worset Lane, Elwick, on the outskirts of Hartlepool.

Farmer Tom Bird planted the seeds as an experiment earlier this year and he is hoping to harvest the crop and sell the seeds as bird feed.

If the harvest of the seven hectare crop is successful, then the colourful sight could become an annual event in Hartlepool.'

High Key

After asking some people for suggestions on how to make a better image i've tried this high key style. Just wondered what you all thought of these two images.

Thanks to Doug for giving me some very useful tips.

Mum to be

Thanks to Adele for letting me photograph her and thanks to Helen for letting me come in and join the photo shoot. I'd be eternally grateful for some comments on these and any advice what I could do better. Thank you.

Sunflower

Unfortunately only one sunflower i grew from seed actually lived. Don't think I have green fingers. Thought i'd better take a photo before it dies and before the caterpillar eats the leaves any more LOL

Whilst waiting for the Kingfisher to arrive at Far Pastures pond i decided to take this wasp which landed on a flower infront of me.

The Kingfisher only stayed on the branch for a few seconds this time. This is the best shot out of a dozen I took. The light wasn't fabulous last night.
