Went out this afternoon after shopping and bumped into Chris from the camera club. Had a nice afternoon taking photos.

Red Kites

I'm still trying to get a good shot of these marvelous birds (Red Kites) but my lens is only a 200mm and it's hard getting a good shot so far up in the sky. But these are my best so far so I wanted to share them with you all.

Hare

Went out this morning with George and Ron, a couple of friends from the camera club. We were hoping to see the hares. Finally we did see a few, but trying to get a shot so far away was nigh on impossible(with my lens anyway). These are the best i've got from a buch of blurred ones. I wish I had a better lens (sigh).

Lily pads

These lily pads were inside a hothouse in Durham Botanical Gardens.

Durham Botanical Gardens

Had a lovely day at The Botanical Gardens in Durham. Sun was shining, still a nip in the air though (only 10° C), not many people either so was a calming, peaceful day.

NCPF Portfolio selection

I've just found out that my image was selected for the NCPF (Northern Counties Photographic Federeation) Portfolio 2010. The portfolio is a selection of the best prints in the northern counties camera clubs and it tours the clubs showing the best of what all the clubs can do.

I'd like to say congratulations to fellow members Brian Hall (Red Squirrel & Kestrel and Chick images), John Taylor (The predator Returns & St Andrews in Winter images) who also got selected.

Bluetit

A bit of a grey miserable day today, nothing much happening at the hide, but I managed to get this shot of a bluetit.

Derelict

A derelict farmhouse in Teesdale. Don't ask me whereabouts as I haven't got a clue. As always, I get in the car and set out to go to a place; but I tend to take a route that I've never taken before and end up getting lost LOL.

Hazy Days

These past few days we've been having terrible hazy sunshine due to Volcanic ash from the Icelandic eruption which is falling across the UK. Here's some photos that I took today.
