Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden

Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire, is a ruined Cistercian monastery, founded in 1132. Fountains Abbey is one of the largest and best preserved Cistercian houses in England. It is a Grade I listed building and owned by the National Trust. Along with the adjacent Studley Royal Water Garden, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
I booked a couple of days off from work as a holiday & decided to spend the day at Fountains Abbey, somewhere I'd never been before. When we arrived it was dull and overcast but it managed to get out sunny for a couple of hours before changing again

That's what I wish to have here in Charleston: Your British landscapes!

Beautiful shots, Carol.
