Finally

Finally i got to go out with my camera. It's been quite a while now and i've really not felt like photography these past few weeks. But I just had to make myself get out there again. I find it's good for the soul; it makes you forget all your troubles, even if it is just for a while.

These are of Tunstall Reservoir. It had been raining and the sun got out late on just for an hour as I strolled along the bankside. It's great to be out again in the great outdoors.

I've not been able to get out and about with my camera due to ill health and Christmas looming upon us so i've decided to look at some old photos taken last eyar. These were taken in Sept 2007 and these lads were having a great time dodging the waves at South Shields.

Sorry to all my fellow bloggers

Sorry to all of you who are regular visitors. I'm not very well at the moment due to stress and haven't been out with my camera for a while. However here's a picture of a sunrise taken not far from where i live. It's not the most brilliant image but I do like to put something up for you all.

Just going through some old photos from last year and thought you may like to see them. Taken at Roker in Sunderland December 2007.

Port of Tyne

Last night was my presentation as runner up in the Port of Tyne photo competition. I nearly didn't go because my nerves have been playing up due to going through a lot of stress at work lately (that's another story I really can't talk about though). However my friend told me not to let it get me down and had surprised me by paying for a taxi for us so I didn't have to drive in Newcastle (she knows how nervous I get driving in the city).
It was a nice night, there was free food and drink flowing all night. I got my photo taken accepting the prize (£50 voucher to spend in a Jessops camera shop) and a group photo was taken of all the winners and runners up to be put in the local newspaper. If i see it in the newspaper i'll scan it in and post it.

Snow

These are photos taken last week when it snowed. My friend Helen and myself took these from inside the car on our way to work. What should've taken 25 minutes to get to work took us 2 1/4 hours. The traffic was horrendous. I've driven in worse conditions but I think what is happening now is that younger drivers that aren't used to the snow are having problems driving in it cos they don't know what to do. Hence people being stuck, skidding, accidents etc. These photos were taken with a camera phone

Nuthatch

The nuthatches are a genus, Sitta, of small passerine birds belonging to the family Sittidae. Characterised by large heads, short tails, and powerful bills and feet, nuthatches advertise their territory using loud, simple songs. Most species exhibit grey or bluish upperparts and a black eye stripe.

These images were taken at my favourite hide at Thornley Woods. It was freezing cold but a beautiful morning so i braved the cold for an hour but never got many good shots unfortunately. These were about the best I got. I saw a deer but wasn't close enough to get a decent photo.

Look to the sun

I know you're not supposed to shoot towards the sun but i just couldn't resist this shot, I was just pulled towards the light.

Woodland Walk

You can see how the sun had melted some of the countryside and left other sheltered parts still frozen.
