How can people be so cruel

(This photo was taken last year on my holidays in Scotland)
I found out today that this beautiful deer nicknamed Big Boy has been killed by some horrible, cruel person, who shot him in the face multiple times with an air gun and left him to suffer.
A Ranger had to put him out of his misery when he was discovered at the roadside by a truck driver. I wish the police could catch this thug and give him to the public. I would love to do to them/him what they have done to this beautiful helpless animal. I'm very upset about this as he was such a beauty and everyone traveling to Glencoe would stop by the roadside to look at him. The man who owned the burger van in the car park Big Boy stayed near used to look after him and make sure when people came to see him they didn't frighten him and get too close. He was such a tourist attraction and everyone loved him. It's such an outrage that someone could do such a cruel thing.

I'd like to apologise to everyone who follows my blog but i've not been too well these past couple of months due to a lot of stress. Otherwise please try to pop back now and again and please don't desert me. I look forward to all your visits and comments. Thankyou all for being so kind and keeping logged on to my blog.

Sunrise Sunset

Old pictures again until I get out as i'm still not feeling too good.
The first picture is of the Terris Novalis statues taken last year at sunrise.
The second image was a grab shot on my way home of a beautiful sunset taken near a small village called Medomsley near where I live.

The Photographer

One of the friends that come out with me on my photographic travels. She not a dslr user but I have to say she has got a good eye for a photograph. Her camera is a Sony DSC H9 that her husband bought her for Christmas a year ago. For all it's not a DSLR i have to say she's had some very impressive images taken with it. She's gonna kill me for putting this up.

This is a little waterfall down near the River Derwent.

King of the Castle

I couldn't resist taking this picture. He was quite happy munching away on the top of the pile of hay and looking down at the others as if to say 'Im the King of the Castle'.. LOL

Up on the moors

Snowy moorland landscapes. It was -3degrees and I thought my hands were dropping off. LOL I must be getting soft in my older years.

Snow

Well I took the advice from my doctor and got out of the house for a while today. As you know i've been off work poorly with stress etc and haven't been out the house much. I was advised by my doctor after being tested for my blood pressure to get out and try to destress for a while. So I went up on the moors and took some shots of the snow that had fallen.

Sunset

As the sun sets on my birthday I wanted to post these images I took today whilst at a friends house. This was taken over the road from where my friends live. In the winter they always enjoy these beautiful sunsets from their front window. This was a zoomed image. Later on, when the sun went down, I took another couple. One from inside the house and one outside.

It's my Birthday.

Yes folks i'm now the grand old age of 51 years. A few more wrinkles, bones tiring, body sagging but I still feel 30 in my mind. The sun may be setting in this picture but I feel that a new chapter of my life is starting now.
The image was taken the same evening of the image on the previous post. This was the scene as the sun was setting over Holy Island causeway.

Happy New Year

The Gift of a New Year

Here’s to the year
that’s almost past its expiration date—2008.
We all had some surprises, didn’t we?
Some good, some distressing.
Let’s use everything we got from our experiences,
everything we learned,to enrich the new year.
Here’s to the new year, 2009,
a gift we haven’t opened yet.
May its bright, shiny package
contain even more than we hope for.
And even while we’re delighting in new treasures,
let’s appreciate fully what we already have—
the blessings we take for granted.
Make a list, and check it twice.
And here’s to all you wonderful people
who are putting up with my toast;
I hope in the new year
you see yourselves the way I see you:
intelligent, interesting, and likable.
To 2009:
May it give a whole new meaning
to the phrase, "the good life."
