You can find some really interesting things down on the farm if you look closer. In one of the buildings I found these old taps and switches which were thickly covered in cobwebs & the milk churns high above on a shelf. The old pig trough and spade against the stonework looked great. And finally the wood chopping axe embedded in the wood where it had been left after a hard days work.

Sunset

I spent tonight in 3 nature hides without any luck whatsoever. Not one bit of wildlife around. Absolutely dead. Took one photo of the sun as it was going down (2nd photo) which I thought looked ok and that was it. On my way home I pulled over
to take a photo of the sky as the sun was setting. You couldn't see the sun for the trees but the sky looked ok. As I was pulling out to drive home, I spotted a heron by the side of the road. Couldn't believe it, a main road and him standing at the roadside watching the traffic pass by. I'll upload it tomorrow for you.

13th Century Monastic Grange ruin

Taken at Muggleswick. This old ruin was once a priory. I thought I would have a revisit as my last images were dark and grey and not good. This ruin is on Caroline's (from camera club) land. She kindly said we could revisit anytime.

Castleside

Well I have to say I like a challenge. Tonight wasa bright night but very very windy. This was taken at the top of the bank looking down to Castleside. It's a little bit motion blurred LOL But I like it. I'm going back when it's not windy to try again as I love the view. It maybe nice when the corn has ripened.

Mottley Crew

George taking a picture of me while i'm shooting him.

Father & son Ian & Kyle looking at the photo Kyle had just taken of me and thinking he was funny. I'll get him back LOL.

Our new President of the camera club concentrating on his work. LOL

Chris being suckled by a calf. LOL The cow was sucking his jeans, poor thing must've been hungry.
Caroline, who was kind enough to let us on her farm to take photographs. She was doing an impersination of the swallow everyone was trying to catch in flight. LOL
This is just a few of the Camera Club members I got a shot of. The others I photographed either didn't turn out very good or they hid (no names mentioned.... Ron) away from us all.

Blowing in the wind

It's been very windy this morning. and not the best of conditions for taking flower photos but I had to take them. I was looking for motion blur but not quite sure I got the effect right. But you all know me i'll try anything once.

The Shed

This used to be a cricket pavillion and changing room at one time. Now abandoned, the only things still using are the birds to nest in and tramps to sleep in for the night.

Snods Edge revisited.

I decided to revisit St John's Church at Snods Edge in better light. A perfect day, blue skies and some white clouds. I wasn't very happy with my shots on Monday, I was just lacking some inspiration. Do you ever have those days when nothing seems to work no matter how hard you try?
Thanks to inspiration from my fellow camera club members and help from Chris and his girlfriend Lisa, I think I got some fairly good shots. I'm still learning techniques with depth of field etc and Chris helped me a lot yesterday.

Stained Glass Windows

These were taken in St John's Church at Snods Edge, Shotley Bridge. Thanks to Chris for helping out with my settings and guiding me through the shoot. Chris you're a star, there should be more people like you willing to help us amateurs who haven't got a clue when it comes to settings. I'm so used to using the mode settings I thought it was time to use my camera properly and thanks to Chris and a few tutorial i'm starting to think more now rather than point and shoot.

England

I had a very pleasant walk out tonight along the cycle path near Castleside. We came up to a farm where there was a pond and I couldn't believe what I was seeing..... black swans.... Didn't know we had them up our neck of the woods. I couldn't get nearer as I would've been trespassing on the farmers land so these were the best shots I could get with my small 50mm lens.

And did those feet in ancient time

Walk upon England's mountains green?

And was the holy Lamb of God

On England's pleasant pastures seen?

And did the Countenance Divine

Shine forth upon our clouded hills?

And was Jerusalem builded here

Among these dark satanic mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold;

Bring me my arrows of desire;

Bring me my spear; O clouds, unfold!

Bring me my chariot of fire!

I will not cease from mental fight,

Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,

Till we have built Jerusalem

In England's green and pleasant land.

(Jerusalem by William Blake)
